In 2004, Denita Pickens-Jones opened her home — and her heart — to a group of youth in Vacaville, California who needed something the church couldn't quite offer and the school system hadn't thought to provide. What they needed was simple, and yet rare: a place to be heard, to be seen, and to be told the truth about their own worth. What grew from that is the story of P.U.R.E.

From humble beginnings to programs that span Northern California. From car wash fundraisers to corporate partnerships. P.U.R.E. became something no one could have predicted — and everything those young people needed.
